The programme was focused on leaving a lasting legacy by training local people to run the programme themselves. Once the project was established, the partners from the UK withdrew, leaving a working group to drive the concept forward. The South African Police Service ran the football coaching initiative along with the qualified local coaches. NGOs and local schools took over the running of health, well-being and citizenship workshops.

Hintergrund
The programme uses football as a means to build stronger cohesion within the community in Alexandra Township, Johannesburg between young people and the South African Police Service. It was run from 2003 until 2006 and focused on three main areas: training local coaches, health and well-being workshops, and citizenship programmes run by police.
