In the period from 2000 to 2003, Real Madrid balanced its budget and restructured its balance sheet, mainly thanks to the proceeds coming from the sale of its training ground. From the beginning, the President established stability in organisational arrangements, policies and management staff, providing continuity to the club’s sporting strategy. The football management was handled by a director of football and his assistant, and the coaching by a first-team coach. All three positions, and  the presidency, were held by the same people during this time. The club won two La Liga titles and one Champions League title during this period.
